World Soil Day 2024

In commemoration of World Soil Day 2024, celebrated every 5 December, MediTerra joins the global community to highlight the critical importance of this vital resource for life on our planet. This year, the central theme is ‘Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage’, which invites reflection on the need to protect and regenerate our soils to ensure a sustainable future.

Soil is much more than just a resource; it is the basis of our agriculture, the source of our food and a key regulator of climate and biodiversity. However, soil degradation, driven by unsustainable agricultural practices, urbanisation and climate change, represents a significant threat to food security and the health of the planet.
