The initiative, part of the Let’s Clean Up Europe campaign, reinforces citizens’ commitment to the conservation of natural spaces
MediTerra held an environmental clean-up volunteering activity on Sunday, 10 May 2026, at the Tordera Delta, as part of the European Let’s Clean Up Europe campaign promoted by the Catalan Waste Agency and the Government of Catalonia.
The activity brought together 25 volunteers who took part in collecting waste accumulated in this fluvial and coastal environment of high ecological value. During the day, participants walked through the delta and along the banks of the Tordera River, collecting a total of 71 kilograms of waste, mainly plastics, bottles and other litter abandoned in the area.
This initiative is part of a European movement that promotes waste reduction and environmental awareness through citizen participation, encouraging society’s involvement in the conservation of natural spaces.
MediTerra highly values the participation and commitment of all the volunteers who made this initiative possible, actively contributing to the protection of the natural environment and to raising awareness about the issue of waste abandoned in natural areas.
