Environmental volunteering day to clear litter and protect one of Blanes’ most valuable natural areas
MediTerra, based in Blanes, is joining this year’s European ‘Let’s Clean Up Europe’ campaign with a clean-up day in the Tordera Delta, a natural area of great ecological value that requires public involvement for its conservation.
The event will take place on Sunday 10 May 2026 with the aim of collecting litter accumulated in this riverine and coastal environment. This initiative forms part of a European movement that promotes waste reduction and environmental awareness through public participation.
The meeting point will be at 9.00 am in Plaza de San Andrés de Sa Palomera (Blanes), and the event will run until 2.00 pm. During this time, volunteers will visit various points in the delta following a pre-defined route to maximise the efficiency of the clean-up.
The organisers recommend that participants wear comfortable footwear and bring water, a hat and sun cream. MediTerra will provide bin bags and gloves.
Through this initiative, MediTerra reaffirms its commitment to protecting the environment and calls on the public to become actively involved in preserving the local area.
Anyone interested in taking part as a volunteer can register by contacting the organisers via email at mediterra@mediterra.es.
