MediTerra directors Nila Nielsen and Jordi Boronat have successfully completed the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard System Training for AWS Standard V3.0, both achieving Pass with Distinction.
Launched in March 2026, AWS Standard V3.0 represents the latest evolution of the internationally recognised framework for implementing water stewardship. The updated Standard places increased emphasis on understanding water-related risks and opportunities, catchment resilience, stakeholder engagement, double materiality, target setting and continual improvement.
The training provides an in-depth understanding of the AWS Standard and the practical knowledge required to support its implementation and the pathway towards certification. Successful completion also provides eligibility to join the AWS Professional Credentialing Programme.
This new qualification complements MediTerra’s experience in environmental risk assessment, sustainability and Water Stewardship, strengthening our ability to support companies in:
• Assessing site and catchment-level water risks and opportunities;
• Developing Water Stewardship strategies and plans;
• Implementing the AWS Standard V3.0;
• Preparing for AWS certification; and
• Identifying opportunities for collective action beyond the site boundary.
Through this approach, MediTerra supports organisations in moving beyond conventional water management towards a broader Water Stewardship approach that considers the shared nature of water challenges within the catchment.
